Football Jersey: Design, Fit & Custom Bulk Pricing

A quality football jersey needs the right fabric, fit and customization method to perform under pressure. Learn what separates a game-ready jersey from a standard tee, how bulk pricing works, and what to expect from a manufacturer.

Football Jersey: Design, Fit & Custom Bulk Pricing

Quick answer: A custom football jersey starts at $18.50 per piece (10–24 qty) and includes your full design — crest, sponsor logos and player names and numbers — sublimated into performance mesh or interlock fabric. Fit, fabric weight and decoration method all affect durability and appearance on the pitch. All prices shown are estimates; your final quote comes by email after you provide design, sizes and team specifications.

What Makes a Football Jersey Different from a T-Shirt

A football jersey is engineered for 90 minutes of hard running, tackling and sweat. A t-shirt is not. The difference lies in four areas: fabric, fit, construction and decoration.

Fabric. Football jerseys use performance knits — typically 2-way stretch mesh or interlock — that wick moisture and dry fast. A standard cotton tee absorbs sweat and stays wet. The mesh must also be sublimation-ready (if you're printing) so colors stay sharp and never crack or peel, even after dozens of washes.

Fit. A football jersey is cut slimmer through the shoulders and torso than a casual tee, with reinforced side seams and a longer tail to prevent riding up during play. The armhole is positioned lower to allow full shoulder rotation.

Construction. Quality seams are reinforced at stress points — underarms, side seams and necklines — because that's where kits tear under repeated movement. Hems are locked, not just stitched once.

Decoration. Names and numbers must stay legible and intact for the entire season. Sublimation (printing color into the fabric) is the standard for match jerseys because it resists fading and cracking far better than screen printing or heat transfer on performance fabrics.

Fabric Options: What to Choose and Why

The fabric you choose affects price, feel, print quality and longevity. Here are the three most common for football:

  • Pro Mesh (100% polyester, 140–160 gsm, 2-way stretch). Lightweight, breathable and excellent for sublimation. Ideal for warm climates or teams that play in spring and early autumn. Dries very fast and holds bright colors. This is the most popular choice for match jerseys.
  • Birdseye Mesh (100% polyester, 130–150 gsm, 2-way stretch). A softer hand feel than Pro Mesh with a small 'eye' hole pattern for airflow. Great for premium training jerseys or clubs that want a smoother aesthetic. Slightly less durable than Pro Mesh over many seasons.
  • Smooth Interlock (100% polyester, 160–190 gsm, 2-way stretch). Heavier and more opaque than mesh. Holds crisp, high-detail prints and resists snagging. Better for cooler climates or a more structured look. Costs more but lasts longer under heavy use.

All three are available in any color via sublimation — or in stock team colors (navy, royal blue, red, black, white, gold, forest green and many more) if you want to keep costs down and lead times short.

Customization: Names, Numbers and Club Crests

Your design — crest, sponsor logos, player names and numbers — is printed directly into the fabric using full-color sublimation. This means:

  • Unlimited colors in a single design with no additional print charges
  • No color separation needed (unlike screen printing)
  • No cracking, peeling or fading after washing or UV exposure
  • Sharp detail on small text and fine lines
  • Designs can wrap around the jersey front, back, sleeves and sides

If you're ordering from existing artwork (a club crest, for example), send it as AI, EPS, SVG, PDF or PNG. We'll prepare it for production and send you a free digital mockup in your colors before we make anything.

For teams without artwork, we can design a jersey from scratch — or work from a sketch, color reference or Pantone number to match your club identity.

Sizing and Fit: Youth to Adult 5XL

Football players range from under-12 youth to adult men and women. Every jersey is graded consistently from youth XS (chest 28") to adult 5XL (chest 54") to ensure the same fit proportions at every size. Mixed youth and adult sizes count toward your minimum order of 10, so a team of 16 players might order 8 youth and 8 adult jerseys in a single production run.

Every sport page includes a detailed size chart with chest, length and sleeve measurements. We also offer size-set samples (one piece in each key size) so your team can confirm fit before the full order ships.

Custom Football Jersey Pricing and Quantity Tiers

Pricing drops as quantity increases because setup costs are spread across more pieces. Match jerseys start at $18.50 per piece (10–24 qty) and fall to $9 per piece at 250+ qty. A complete jersey kit — jersey plus shorts plus socks — is $33 per set at the smallest order size. All prices shown are estimates and include worldwide delivery to one address. Your final quote comes by email after you provide your design, size breakdown and delivery location.

Here's how it breaks down:

Quantity Match Jersey Jersey + Shorts + Socks
10–24 pcs $18.50 $33
25–49 pcs $16 $30
50–99 pcs $14 $25
100–249 pcs $11.50 $21.50
250+ pcs $9 $18

Import duties and local taxes (if your country charges them) are calculated during the quotation process and are paid separately to customs or your carrier.

Price update: Only orders paid before 9 November 2026 keep today's prices. Quotations and unpaid orders move to new pricing after 10 November.

What About Home and Away Kits?

Most competitive clubs need two jersey designs — a home kit (one color) and an away kit (contrasting color) — for league and cup matches. A Home & Away Kit package includes 2 jerseys, 2 shorts and 1 pair of socks per player and is priced lower than buying items separately: $58.50 per set (10–24 qty) down to $31.50 at 250+ qty.

You choose the two jersey colors and can assign home and away designs within the same production run.

Free Mockup and Pre-Production Sample

Before you commit to an order, you get a free digital mockup showing your design in your colors on a jersey flat. This is instant and helps you approve the layout, logo placement and color accuracy.

Every bulk order also includes a free pre-production sample: we make and film the first piece for your approval before we start the full run. Once you approve the sample video, you pay the balance and production begins. You see the actual fabric, print quality, stitching and color in one real jersey before we scale up.

Production Timeline and Deadlines

From approved artwork and sample to finished jerseys ready to ship is typically 3–6 weeks, depending on quantity, fabric availability and current order volume.

If you have a tournament or league start date in mind, tell us the deadline when you request your quote. We'll recommend the most realistic production plan and suggest whether express production or standard lead times work for your schedule.

Packing can be sorted by player name, size or team, and labeled accordingly. Multi-team orders are separated and packed distinctly for easy distribution.

Complete Kit Options

Many teams buy more than just a jersey. A Match Kit (jersey + shorts + socks) gives you a complete look from neck to toe. Some clubs also add training tops, tracksuits for travel, or team backpacks. A Full Club Package — match kit, training top, tracksuit and backpack — is priced as a bundled set with steeper discounts at higher quantities.

See the football uniforms page for all package options and pricing.

Quality Control and Durability

Every jersey goes through six quality checks: fabric inspection, cutting accuracy, print sharpness, seam strength, size verification and final packing. We look for flaws in color consistency, loose threads, misalignment and decoration defects before anything ships.

Your jerseys are built to last a full season of competitive play — and many seasons beyond if cared for properly. Sublimated colors never crack or peel. Reinforced seams resist splitting. The breathable mesh keeps players cool under pressure.

Frequently asked questions

01Can I order fewer than 10 jerseys?+

Our minimum order is 10 pieces per style, but you can mix youth and adult sizes to reach that MOQ. So a team of 8 players might order 5 adult and 5 youth jerseys in one production run.

02How long does a football jersey order take from start to finish?+

Typically 3–6 weeks from approved artwork and pre-production sample to delivery, depending on quantity and current production volume. If you have a tournament deadline, tell us and we'll advise on feasibility.

03What if I don't have a club crest or artwork yet?+

We design jerseys from scratch. Send a sketch, color reference, Pantone number or brief description of your club identity, and we'll create artwork and send you a free digital mockup. You approve the design before we make anything.

04Does the price include delivery?+

Yes. All prices shown are estimates and include worldwide delivery to one address. Import duties and local taxes (if your country charges them) are confirmed in your quotation and are your responsibility to pay to customs or your carrier.

05What's the difference between a match jersey and a training jersey?+

A match jersey is sublimated with full color graphics and optimized for performance under competition pressure — it's your 'game day' kit. A training jersey is lighter and less detailed, used for practice and warm-ups, and usually costs less. Most teams order both.
